“Skyscapes” is a series of photographs taken of the sky at sunrise and sunset and then distorted with my Worlds In Figures custom software that uses historic mapping projections. This photo was taken in Berlin, Germany, in the summer of 2024, and warped using the Stereographic projection, which was likely known by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, but often credited to Hipparchus in the 2nd century BC. This Skyscapes Diptych print series is composed of two images exactly 180 degrees apart in their rotation around the mapping projection.
