Strand Hoodies are produced by cutting two solid color sweatshirts in half vertically and sewing them back together with the seams facing out. The color pairings are related to the manufacturing of internet fiber optic cables, in which each strand of glass can be addressed through a pairing of two (out of twelve) colors. In this case, an outer tube of pink and inner tube of orange refers to fiber strand number 23.

Hoodies come with a projection patch on the hood and signed on the tag. The labels are hand made from remnants of the linen I paint the Strands painting series on.

Q: Why are these so expensive?
A: I’m doing all of the cutting and sewing myself and it takes me several hours from start to finish to make one. If you’d rather make one yourself, I’m in full support of this, please send me a photo!

Q: The one I want is sold out, will you be making more?
A: Maybe? Send me an email of the Strand # and size you are interested in 👉 studio(at)evan-roth(dot).com New releases will be announced periodically on my newsletter (you can sign up here) and on Instagram.

Q: Do you offer returns if I don’t like it or it doesn’t fit?
A: You have 14 days to return an item (you’re responsible for the costs of return shipping). Beyond that, I will try to support returns as much as possible but I’d rather you ask questions before placing the order. I’m happy to take more photos or measurements.

Q: Aren’t you just ordering two solid color blank hoodies online, cutting them in half, swapping the colors and then sewing them back-together and marking up the price?
A: Yes…. and they are 🔥.

Q: Some of the seams don’t look perfect, what gives?
A: I do not claim to be a professional tailor, but I do my best. The seam where the vertical cut took place is intentionally visible… it’s supposed to look cut in half!
